His eyes lit up "You did?" He was only 11.

"But why are you asking me?"

Helen smiled and nodded "You didn't think I'd forget today's your birthday now did you?"

"No one else will talk to me. Something about me looking evil."

Daniel grinned "Thank you!"

He snorted

Helen smiled "But you can't open it until mom and Evelen are here to see it."

The tavern mast set a plate of food infront of prosper "You do look evil, if it wasn't for the fact I know you I'd think you were evil too."

"Thank you for sparring my feelings robert." He said sarcasticly

Daniel sighed

Prospr looked at the food

Helen ruffeled his hair then went to go find her mother and sister

"Hey its the truth kid, want me to lie to you?"

"No, I'd rather hear the critisism."

"Then take it."

"You are creul."

"Want some cheese with that wine?"

"very funny."

"I thought it was."

Daniel followed her

Prosper was still looking at the food

Evelen ran to Helen and hugged her "Welcome home!" the mother smiled

Robert looked at him "Something wrong?"

Daniel smiled

"I'm allowed to eat it?"

"Now that your home Daniel can open his presents." Evelen said

Helene nodded "And I got him one to open too." She pulled a box out of her bag and handed to him "Happy birthday Daniel."

"Of corse." Robert said "Thats why I gave it to ya."

"Thank you!"

"Thanks"

"Well open it." Helen said smiling brightly

"Thank Leon, I dont normally give hand outs."

He tore it open

"Thanks, man." He nodded at leon

There was a training sword in the box, complete with a sheth. Helen had rembered thier father's wishes for each of them. For Evelen, he wished her to be a kind and fair lady, the kind almost every man would fall for. For Daniel, he wanted him to be a stong and responsible gental men. and for her, well, she would never say.

Leon nodded "No problem."

"THANK YOU!"

He started to eat

"Your quite welcome." Helen said

Evelen gave him her gift for him next

Leon and Robert were continuing thier arguement

He took that gift and opened it.

Prosper ate quickly

It was a wooden box with dragons hand carved on it with fine detail. It had a gold latch to hold it closed until opened. The latch was also in the shape of a dragon.

Leon asked the tavern master about the family

"All I know is theres three kids and the mother. The father was killed a few years back. The oldest is a kind and pretty girl who will leave gifts for everyone in town on holidays. The middle child is a girl who mainly stays at the boarding shcool in the south. And the youngest is a playful boy who looks up to his sisters."

Leon nodded "Thanks Robert."

Daniels eyes lit up

"Do you like it?" Evelen asked

"Why are you so interested in this artifact you don't even know they have?"

"If its what I think it is, it can unlock a new understanding of magic."

"Typical sorcer."

"I guess so."

"I love it!"

Prosper listened

"I'm glad you like it." Evelen said with a sweet smile

"You guess so?"

"Not to many sorcers even know it exsist."

"So how do you know of it?"

"Rumors mainly. I could be on a wild goose chase or I could be on to something."

"Sounds like a goose chase to me."

Daniel smiled "Thank you."

Prosper took another bite of his food.

The mother handed him her gift "This is for you as well."

"Your are a really supportive freind ya know that?" Leon said sacasticly

"mhm." Robert repleyed

"Thank you, Mom."
